Today saw the launch of the first fundraising initiative of the UK-based Baranku School Fundraising Charity. The charity is trying to raise sufficient funds to purchase 50 reading books for the Baranku School.

“We are so pleased that we have been able to launch this fundraising initiative to support the teaching staff at Baranku School in Jambanjelly, Gambia” said Mick Tinkler, his wife Caroline who works with children with additional needs in the UK added that “the gift of education to these young children is a very special thing. Just 1 in 10 Gambian children complete their primary education, by providing access to pre-school and infant school, more children will go on to complete primary education”.

We are challenging people to donate just £5 so that we can purchase reading books, all Gambian children are taught English which is The Gambia’s national language.
